Teams, Team Building, and Being a Successful
Team Captain
Teams make a difference! Team members make a
significant contribution by asking their colleagues, friends,
and family to sponsor them with a donation to support LIFE Walk.
Showing up on event day sends a powerful message. There is
always power in numbers.
Team captains and co-captains are the
volunteer leaders who help to build excitement and help teams
reach fundraising goals. Every person that you recruit helps to
promote awareness of organ and tissue donation.

Team Member Roles
Team Captains
recruit co-captains and team members. A recommended team size is
10 members. But all it really takes is two (2) people to make a
team. The larger the team, the greater the need for co-captains,
perhaps one for overseeing members who register online, one for
overseeing mail-in registration, and one for overseeing
event-day registration of team members.
Co-Captains
work closely with the team captain. As a co-captain, you will
help recruit members, and help get them registered and assist in
setting goals and advising team members.
Team Members
agree to be a part of the walk and are
encouraged to raise funds. EVERYONE can be team member!
Where can you find team members?
-
Talk “LIFE Walk” to all of your
friends, family members and co-workers.
-
Send a letter or an email to everyone
in your address book.
-
Ask people/staff at your favorite or
frequented establishments (e.g., restaurant, salon, store,
barber, doctor, dentist, lawyer, etc.).
-
Ask people at your place of worship,
school, neighborhood, community center, etc.
-
Ask your fraternity or sorority
associations.
