Let everyone know that you are participating in LIFE Walk. When they ask what is LIFE Walk, it is the perfect opportunity to raise awareness about organ and tissue donation and raise funds at the same time!

• Instead of a birthday gift, request that your friends or family make a donation to LIFE Walk.

• Ask your doctor(s), dentist, or veterinarian for a donation.

• Ask the neighbors on your block, in your sub-division, or apartment complex for a donation.

• Ask your hair stylist or salon for a donation.

• You can baby-sit, pet-sit, or house-sit for donations.

• On holidays, such as Memorial Day or Fourth of July, have donation forms and a donation jar at the family/friends outing and ask everyone in attendance.

• Have a bottle drive to collect the return deposits.

• Have a garage sale with donated items with proceeds going to LIFE Walk.

• Request that your family and friends contribute all of their spare change to a jar, and at the end of the month, let them know how much money has been collected. Set a goal.

• Have a car wash in your neighborhood, at your place of worship, or business to raise money. What about a dog wash!

• Have a movie party at your house. Have pizza and charge at the door!

• Have a dinner party at your home for 10 of your closet friends, request a "per person" donation.

• Have game night with family games - Monopoly, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, cards, etc. Have some snacks and drinks. Charge at the door.

• Have a 50/50 raffle. The prize is half the 'pot". The winner evenly splits the pot with you the fundraiser - you get 50% of the proceeds and they get the other 50%.

• Spread the word by signing correspondence with your name and link to LIFE Walk's donation page: www.active.com/donate/2008motteplifewalk

• Add a message to your voicemail and answering machine about LIFE Walk encouraging folk to visit the site and make a donation. Don't forget to set up a fundraising page.

• Request to speak at your place of worship and set up a table to collect donations.

• Sell space on a shirt! Sell small blocks of space on a shirt that you plan to wear at LIFE for a suggested donation. Have patrons write, sign, or draw something in the block to support your participation.

If you plan to display flyers/posters in a public space (store, mall, parking lot, place of work, business, etc.), please check with the property manager or owner for permission, before posting your materials.
